Find A Store

Do your homework. Obtain brochures; visit mattress brands websites to find out more about mattresses. Get fully involved in the purchase decision. Keep in mind that the mattress you are about to buy will last you at least ten years and that you will spend more time on it than any other piece of furniture in your home.

According to Dr. James B. Maas, Author of Power Sleep Book, Sleep Educator, an average person tosses and turns 40 to 60 times a night. Clinical studies show that the ripple effect caused by a bed partner’s tossing and turning can result in up to 20% loss of critical deep sleep as 70% of the time a partner moves, the other follows. Therefore, it is important to try the mattress with your partner.

Basically, you want a well-built mattress that gives you great support, great comfort and good value for your money. Keep in mind your height and weight while shopping for your choice mattress. This will help you to select a mattress that will not end up too soft or too firm. And if you do suffer from any back pain, we recommend that you mention it to our sales consultants. But prior to shopping for a mattress, you may like to seek the orthopaedic’s advice. We do recommend you to preferably opt for a firm, tight-top mattress such as our signature Simmons® BackCare® Series for better back support. Other factors, which you may like to consider while shopping for your choice mattress, are as follows: What is your current mattress comfort like? Is it firm or soft? What is wrong with your current mattress? Why are you changing your mattress?

Given no space constraint, consumers, particularly those who sleep with a partner, should choose a bigger size mattress. A king size mattress also delivers greater motion separation effect. Simmons mattresses come in a variety of sizes. The following are our most common:

Singapore Mattress Sizes
Single: 91cm x 190cm;
Super Single: 107cm x 190cm;
Queen: 152cm x 190cm;

King Long: 182cm x 198cm;

Now you have identified your needs, before you hit the stores, be sure you visit only Simmons Gallery, Simmons Studio, BHG Bugis, Courts, Isetan Scotts, Metro, Takashimaya, Tangs, Harvey Norman, OG and authorized dealers to purchase your Simmons mattress. All Simmons’ authorized dealers carry a certificate of proof, which customers can request to see. A warranty is only given to a product when it is purchased from Simmons Gallery, Simmons Studio, a reputable retailer or an authorized dealer.

At the store, we recommend you to try a maximum of three mattresses with different levels of firmness at any one time. Lie down for a few minutes on the mattress in your most common sleeping positions. Do not just sit on the edge, as this does not provide a good gauge of comfort and support level. Give each mattress a few minutes before moving on to the next one. This is the only effective way to shop for a mattress that suits you and your partner’s needs best.

While at the store, ask our sales consultants to explain the key features and benefits of the mattresses you are interested in. This will help you better understand Simmons products, particularly on its coil construction.

Three key factors to note are:

i) Conformability; refers to how well the mattress adjusts to the shape of your body to provide support and reduce pressure points. The goal is a responsive sleep surface that constantly adjusts to your body weight. The higher the conformability, the less you toss and turn and the better your sleep.

ii) Plushness: the cushy feeling you experience as you lie down. Plushness comes from layers of foams, fibres and even natural materials like latex, memory foam, cashmere, silk or wool on top of the coil unit. These layers add to conformability to give the mattress that special touch appeal. These layers also act as insulations and contribute to the firmness of mattress.

iii) Support: is how well your weight is distributed by your mattress. The more you weigh, the more support you need. Support and firmness go hand-in-hand. Firmness is the resistance the coils offer when your body compresses them. Put it simply, firmness is how the coils push up when you lie down. Only Simmons® Original Pocketed Coil® makes it possible to fine-tune support and firmness, thanks to the greater spring effect as a result of pre-compression of its coils and the no. of turns in the coil that achieves it.

Now that you have picked a suitable mattress, it is important that you buy a matching foundation. Foundations are built to work with specific mattress constructions to maximize the benefits of that particular mattress. Buy a mattress set with a high-quality and well-constructed foundation. A good foundation will have multiple torsion bars and strong support beams. If you are opting for a bedframe, choose one with center support for queen/king size beds to prevent bowing in the middle of the bed and to prevent the warranty from being invalidated. Alternatively, choose a bedframe with a solid flat base board. Avoid slate-based bedframe to ensure validity of warranty for your mattress.

Approach our sales consultants for queries on different models of mattresses. Ask to see a Simmons® Beautyrest® or Simmons® BackCare® and find out which sleep set is best suited to your needs.

Buying a decent mattress is like buying a decent sound system. A higher quality mattress is usually bought at a higher price. However, price is not everything. Look for the best you can afford. Remember, this is an investment that will last for years. Buy the best you can afford and one that suit your needs best. For example, assuming a Simmons mattress costs you S$3,000, has warranty of ten years, the cost of owning a Simmons mattress per day is: S$3000/10 years = S$300/365 days = S$0.82 per day.

Easy Steps For Caring Your Two-Sided Mattress Flipping and Turning will help to relieve the compression on the upholstered materials that work with the coils to provide comfort and support at the same time. Normally, body impression of less than 38 mm (1.5 inch) that appear after a period of use is not considered as defects.
  • In the first 3 months, flip and turn your mattress every 2 weeks.
  • Thereafter, flip and turn the mattress every 60 days.
Easy Steps For Caring Your Simmons Non-Flip Mattress This unique Simmons “Non-Flip” design does not have to be flipped to maintain warranty protection. Your Non-Flip mattress will have a different type of finish on the bottom than the top surface. The bottom finish assists in reducing mattress movement on the boxspring. Although not required, in an effort to fully maximize the comfort performance of the product, we suggest rotating the mattress from corner to corner to assist in equalizing the body impressions that will occur in a high-quality new mattress.

This will help relieve the compression on the upholstered materials, which are soft and constructed to work with the coils to provide comfort and support at the same time.

Handles are provided to reposition the mattress on the box spring. The handles are not designed to support the full weight of the mattress and should not be used for lifting or pulling the mattress.

Nowadays, mattresses are of a higher height as they are much plusher than yesteryears. Sheet manufacturers are increasing the depths of their fitted sheets. Just a few years ago, the depths (or gusset) of fitted sheets were generally 7″- 7.5″. Today, most sheets made by major linen mills have at least a 9″- 9.5″ gusset (or depth). More and more mills are making “high contour” sheets that have 11″, 13″, 14″ and even some 15″ depths. Deeper-made sheets or Deep pocket sheets are available at most major retailers.

Bedding may have a new upholstery smell when it is removed from the plastic wrap. The smell should diminish in two to three weeks. Increased air flow, such as opening a window in the room, will help to remove the odor. Alternatively, you may purchase sachets of charcoal to remove the odor.

Odors that do not appear until several years after the mattress has been in a home are generally a result of being soiled over the years and long-term use. The upholstery of the mattress, like the fabric of clothing, is porous and traps odors when you cook or smoke at home. When this happens, it means your mattress is old and needs to be replaced.

These are called House models and they are exclusive products customised to cater to a particular store’s unique needs based on their customers’ feedback and response. Customers can be rest assured on the quality of these House models.

The best way to protect your mattress from stains or being soiled is to use Simmons® Beautyrest® mattress protector.

Simmons mattress protectors feature the unique Expand-A-Grip benefit to hold mattress protector firmly to mattress. The Expand-A-Grip feature allows the mattress protector to fit 4″ to 15″ thick mattress. Its glove-like fit allows proper sheet fit. Filled with polyester fiberfill and antimicrobial-treated fabric, it helps to eliminate household dust mites and protect the fiberfill from growth of mildew and control odors. It is 100% cotton-made, making it very comfortable and it adds an additional layer of breathable comfort to your mattress. It is machine washable.

Simmons recommends that you test the beds on the retail show floor to determine your personal comfort preference. Lie down on each mattress to help you decide which model is best suited to your needs. Many components make up the feel of a mattress – such as coil unit construction, foam and upholstery layers, and cover fabric. Ultimately, the exact Simmons mattress you choose will depend on your personal preferences and the sleep benefits the model delivers. As a comparison guide you may take note of brand class (i.e., Beautyrest®, Connoisseur™, World Class®, BackCare®, BackCare® Ultimate™ Series and BackCare® Advanced™, etc), coil unit construction and comfort level to help you select the appropriate Simmons bed. As a rule of thumb, we recommend you to try a maximum of three mattresses at any one time. Anything more would simply confuse you.

Yes, Simmons carries pillows with pocketed coils in it. They are called NeckCare Pocketed Coil pillows. It is designed with coils inside the pillow together with Beautyloft polyster fibre to provide ideal spinal alignment to individual’s head and neck areas. It is unique because each coil is individually wrapped with fibre pocket that are of immense strength and durability. It comes in four different level of firmness, beginning with NeckCare 1 (Soft) to NeckCare 2 (Medium) to NeckCare 3 (Firm) to NeckCare 4 (Ultra Firm). The difference in density of firmness in the Beautyloft fibre gives you a soft, plump feel and difference levels of firmness. Air contained in the coil of the pillow will generate a sort of micro-climate, which will ensure sufficient heat exchange and proper temperature.

Simmons also carries Memory Foam with pocketed coils pillows called Simmons Beautyrest NextGen pillows. It helps to relieve pressure points on neck and shoulder areas.

The Simmons Pocketed Coil pillows are sold at Simmons Gallery Capitol Singapore, Nassim, PLQ and IMM, and in Simmons Studio Plaza Singapura and Thomson Plaza.
